A PERFECT CIRCLE: 'Three Sixty' Collection to Include First Studio Recording In Decade
A PERFECT CIRCLE, the multi-platinum rock band helmed by Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, PUSCIFER) and Billy Howerdel (ASHES DIVIDE), will release "Three Sixty", the outfit's first greatest-hits collection, on November 19 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). The release also includes A PERFECT CIRCLE's first new original, studio recording in a decade with the inclusion of "By And Down", a song written after the band returned from their self-imposed hiatus for a series of live performances throughout 2010 and 2011. "Billy and I created A PERFECT CIRCLE out of a now long-running friendship, and I think the music we have made reflects that personal connection and has given us the ability to further develop and trust our intuition," explained Keenan. "I feel 'Three Sixty' is an accurate representation of that friendship and those instincts." In a brand new intervie with RollingStone.com, Keenan stated about "Three Sixty": "Of course, record companies always have their little clause in their contract, about their right to release a greatest-hits record. I think that can be kind of weird sometimes, when you see 'the greatest hits,' no, no — 'the greatest greatest hits.' Releases by a record label that the band had nothing to do with, and there's several versions of the same thing, over and over again. That's kind of why we did the DVD and the box set. If you're going to release a greatest hits, we should also offer something that's not just the old recordings, rearranged. But on that greatest hits, there's going to be the studio version of 'By And Down', which is the new track that we've been working on, that we never quite got around to recording." A PERFECT CIRCLE formed in the late '90s with Keenan and Howerdel making up the core of the band with a number of well-known musicians having recorded and/or toured with the outfit, including James Iha (SMASHING PUMPKINS), Troy Van Leeuwen (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, FAILURE), Paz Lenchantin (ENTRANCE BAND, ZWAN), Jeordie White (MARILYN MANSON), Josh Freese (THE VANDALS, DEVO) and Tim Alexander (PRIMUS). A PERFECT CIRCLE also recently announced the release of a limited-edition box set titled "A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone And Echo". The collection, which focuses on the band's live outings from 2010-2011 includes a full-length DVD of the outfit's August 2011 Red Rocks concert (with accompanying audio) as well as a 3-CD collection of live releases, one dedicated to each of the three studio albums from the band's discography. The collection is available on November 26. "Three Sixty" track listing: Standard Edition 01. The Hollow 02. Judith 03. Orestes 04. 3 Libras 05. Weak And Powerless 06. The Noose 07. The Outsider 08. DEF LEPPARD's ELLIOTT, SAVAGE Talk To FLICKS AND THE CITY About 'Viva! Hysteria' (Video)
DEF LEPPARD's Joe Elliott (vocals) and Rick Savage (bass) recently spoke to Flicks And The City about their new movie "Viva! Hysteria", playing in Las Vegas, their colloboration with Taylor Swift, how their music has developed over the years, why they've stuck together for so long, how they've survived tough times during their career and their upcoming projects. You can watch the chat below. DEF LEPPARD's recent Las Vegas extravaganza will hit the silver screen for two nights in October. NCM Fathom Events together with AEG Live and Network Live are bringing DEF LEPPARD "Viva! Hysteria" concert to over 250 theaters across the country with a full front-to-back performance of 1987's multi-platinum "Hysteria" album — along with a healthy dose of the band's greatest hits. Tickets for the screenings are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. According to The Pulse Of Radio, Joe Elliott shed some light DEF LEPPARD's recent Vegas residency at the 4,000-capacity Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, explaining, "We've been asked for many years if we'd ever play an album in its entirety, and the answer was always no because we'd be out promoting a new album. Then in March and April 2013 when we had no new music to promote, we had a chance to revisit arguably our most important album. It was an easy decision to make." He went on to say that the stigma involved in rock musicians playing "Sin City" has long passed: "As for Vegas, it's no longer perceived as the place crooners go to die! Artists like MÖTLEY CRÜE, ELTON JOHN, GUNS N' ROSES and CHEAP TRICK have recently done residencies and rock n' roll has definitely moved in! So, there was no better place for us to take the show. It was a fantastic experience for us and for our fans." Joe Elliott told The Pulse Of Radio that the band's humble beginnings back in England never even hinted at where they'd be today. "35 years after starting out in a little school in Sheffield, and then the next thing we're doing a residency in Vegas," he said. "It was never on the agenda back then, y'know? But being in a band more than seven or eight years wasn't either. So, at this moment in time you're just kinda making things up as you go along, because, things just keep appearing for us. Like; 'Hey — you guys fancy doing this?' 'Well, that's something we've never done.' And as soon as we can say that out loud, it's appealing for us to do it, ''cause it gets you off the treadmill." The theatrical showings will be followed by a companion DVD, Blu-ray and live album that Elliott tells Billboard.com will chronicle "the whole shebang" — not only the "Hysteria" set but all of the other songs DEF LEPPARD played over the two nights the show was filmed. "VIVA! Hysteria - Live at the Joint, Las Vegas" will be made available on CD, Blu-ray disc, DVD Video, and digital download in October at your favorite music retailer. * North America: October 22 * Germany, Austria, Switzerland: October 18 * Rest Of Europe & Oceania: October 21 * Japan: October 9

It's brutal beyond the word and yet more melodic and memorable than ever. Formed in 2002 and originally born of the founding members' desire to push their music to new levels of intensity and brutality, the band's dedication to their craft has since manifested itself in a rich touring history, sharing stages with such acts as EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD and DECAPITATED. METALLICA's 'The Howard Stern Show' Appearance Set For Next Monday
METALLICA will guest on "The Howard Stern Show" on SiriusXM satellite radio on Monday, September 23. Back in July, Gary Dell'Abate, the executive producer of "The Howard Stern Show", revealed that METALLICA would take part in an interview and perform two of its "classic" songs on the program. As previously reported, METALLICA is rumored to be preparing a surprise performance at Yankee Stadium in New York to honor retiring Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera. The New York Daily News noted last month that METALLICA will be in town to perform at the Apollo Theater on September 21, one day before the Yankees stage a celebration of Rivera's career on September 22 prior to their game against the San Francisco Giants — who happen to be METALLICA's hometown team. And why would METALLICA pay tribute to the legendary Rivera, who's calling it quits after nearly 20 years with the Yanks? Because for most of those years, the future Baseball Hall Of Famer has been coming out of the bullpen to close out games to the tune of METALLICA's "Enter Sandman" playing on the stadium's P.A. system. According to The Pulse Of Radio, the Daily News contacted Yankees reps about the matter, but a team spokesperson would not comment on "any events surrounding Mo's ceremony." METALLICA performed at Yankee Stadium once before, nearly two years ago in September 2011 when the "Big Four" tour with SLAYER, ANTHRAX and MEGADETH stopped there. As previously reported, METALLICA is playing at the Apollo to promote the release of its new movie, "Metallica Through The Never". The 3D IMAX film made its world premiere on September 9 at the Toronto International Film Festival before opening on September 27 at IMAX theaters and expanding onto additional screens on October 4.

SATYRICON: Fifth Part Of New Video Interview With SATYR
The fifth part of a new video interview with frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven of Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON can be seen below. SATYRICON's new, self-titled studio album was released on September 9 in Norway via Indie Recordings, and in the rest of Europe through Roadrunner Records. The CD, which will be made available on September 17 in North America via Nuclear Blast Entertainment, was produced by Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven and was recorded in Norway, and mixed by Adam Kasper. The effort features a guest appearance by Sivert Høyem, the Norwegian singer best known as the vocalist of the rock band MADRUGADA. "Satyricon" track listing: 01. Voice Of Shadows 02. Tro Og Kraft 03. Our World, It Rumbles Tonight 04. Nocturnal Flare 05. Phoenix 06. Walker Upon The Wind 07. Nekrohaven 08. Ageless Northern Spirit 09. The Infinity Of Time And Space 10. Natt Limited-edition CD digipack bonus tracks: 11. Phoenix (Recording Session Mix) 12. Our World, It Rumbles Tonight (Deeper Low Mix) 13. Natt (Wet Mix) Comments Satyr: "We are back! Sorry it took so long, but we needed the time to be able pull off a record like this. "Comparing this one to previous records is time wasted, it is SATYRICON; constantly on the move. "Naming this record 'Satyricon' was the most obvious thing in the world. We have never done a record which captures the spirit of this band in such a way. Ever. It will demand a lot from you as a listener, but I know you will love it. It will grow on you and that is why it will stay with you forever. "We won't tour as much in the future as we used to, and that will just make every tour more special. This album and this tour is for you and ourselves. It is our moment!" Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep at this year's Inferno festival, Satyr stated about SATYRICON's new album: "To me, it sounds very authentic, it's organic-sounding. And in this digital age where music is mostly played through computers, a lot of that analog vibe gets lost in translation when you play music through medias like that, but I still wanna do it because there's nothing quite like it. To me, it just makes everything sound the way it's supposed to sound — it's dynamical; the music is alive, it's not overly compressed, the levels are not pushed. So, musically speaking, it's a very atmospheric record… This record is full of life. There are a lot of surprises here, but I think it's gonna be a record that's gonna help the black metal movement perhaps find a new way for the future." Interview part 5:
PRETTY MAIDS Guitarist Interviewed By Germany's Metal-Trails.com (Video)
Metal-Trails.com conducted an interview with guitarist Ken Hammer of Danish hard rockers PRETTY MAIDS at this year's Wacken Open Air festival, which was held August 1-3 in Wacken, Germany. You can now watch the chat below. PRETTY MAIDS' latest album, "Motherland", was released on March 22 in Europe and March 26 in North America via Frontiers Records. After their successful and highly acclaimed 2010 album "Pandemonium", PRETTY MAIDS celebrated their 30th anniversary with their debut visual release, "It Comes Alive (Maid in Switzerland)", in 2012. "Pandemonium" showed the world that PRETTY MAIDS were in a creative spring again, with the band in their finest moment. The melodic approach brought a return to the "Future World" / "Red Hot And Heavy" era of the Eighties, but with an updated sound and freshness that consolidated PRETTY MAIDS as strong as ever. In late spring 2012, the band gathered to finally write the follow-up album. Singer Ronnie Atkins explained: "We knew it was going to be a tough one to follow. I remember back in the day when we had to follow-up albums like 'Future World', we tried more or less to copy the songs from the previous album to keep the same kind of balance. But this time we just wrote what came natural to us and that's what became 'Motherland'." The band teamed up again with producer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE) for the new CD. Ronnie said: "Jacob was a natural choice since we had a great experience with him producing the 'Pandemonium' album. The recordings went smooth to begin with, but then we had to start touring again during the weekends and this created some stress. Though I really feel strongly about 'Motherland'. In my view, it has all the ingredients of a good PRETTY MAIDS album, maybe even more melodic than 'Pandemonium' and absolutely, as far as I'm concerned a worthy follow-up."

The CD was recorded by Pontus Norgren of HAMMERFALL, mixed by Juan Urteaga and produced by VICIOUS RUMORS guitarist Geoff Thorpe.
