Tarsish

Biography

Tarsish (or what would become the band) played the first notes in mid-April 2008, with its origins rooted in a jam session among friends.

From that jam session came out a few riffs that were appreciated by all and which the musicians started to worked on, also they started to take a more serious stance regarding the jams, which would thus become a testing project that later became a band.

In early May 2008, the band had one of the most significant changes on the lineup, with the entry of a new element, Pedro Canas - keyboardist, bringing with it him a more engaging sound and a new dynamic to the existing songs.

After the first concert at the end of that month, the band suffers, once again a new change, the lead vocalist decided to leave the band, without a voice in the lineup the band continues to work and takes a new posture and his music evolved to a new level, with more complex compositions and with a sound much more aggressive.

6 months later, new lineup change, this time with the much awaited voice! This voice appeared somewhat randomly, at the request of the band, Miguel, who was at a rehearsal accepted to take is hands on the microphone, at the beginning he accepted to be the voice’s band just temporarily, but the temporary became permanent, and Miguel is currently the vocalist.

After several rehearsals with the new singer, the ideas started to emerge and new songs take place, and it was with those songs that the band decides to participate in March 2009, in the bands contest “Musica Moderna de Azambuja - azb 00 04”, it was a surprise for everyone's, the band won the first prize in the contest.

As a bonus the band had the right to record a demo CD with 3 songs in a professional studio as well as a concert presentation for the demo CD.

Recorded the demo CD, and then distributed (merely for promotional purposes) among friends, night clubs and other bands, and even abroad (Israel, Greece, Canada, Spain, etc.), the band starts to gain name in the underground scene and the invitations to play in places like Transmission Club with bands such as, Brain Dance and Cast A Fire, where TARSISH was the headliner, and at Casa de lafões, has an invited of Darkside of Innocence. The band also had the opportunity to share the stage with bands like, Acid Season and Futile Existence.

Continuing his work, and planning a return to the studio to record their first EP, this group of friends, hopes to take his music as far as possible,
