Slate Grey

The early roots of the band Slate Grey go back to the spring of 2006. At that point in time, Dino started jamming with Florian. Both learned quite soon that their musical tastes and likes were similar and that their playing styles complimented each other. As a result Dino set about finding a few more musicians to build up what today is Slate Grey. Soon in the summer of 2006, after a few sessions with different musicians, another man was finally found - Sébastien. The first session as a trio with Séb was satisfying for everyone. Dino and Florian were impressed by Séb’s rather individual rhythm style on the guitar, and immediately decided that he was the right addition for the band. And so, two became three. Now the first songs from Slate Grey as they are performed today came into being. But still the band was not complete. It took almost a year till in the late Summer of 2007, the long, exhausting search for a voice and a bassplayer could end. With the addition of Benjamin and Sergey the line-up was complete so that Slate Grey started playing shows. In February 2008 Florian and Sergey left the band and Amon and Nick entered to be more than just a “replacement”. There became a new solid character in the band and influenced the sound immediately. Until now Slate Grey is writing songs covering and combining a very wide range of metal music. The band’s aim is to keep an individual style.
