Septima

Biography

It all begun in the year of 2000 when David Szücs (guitar) and Fredrik Johansson (vocals/guitar) started to jam, mostly for fun. They put a few songs together and as they became more serious they asked local drummer Kenneth Helgesson if he wanted to join them. The band needed a name, and for no reason really they decided to call themselfes Septima. The first demo they made ended up really bad. Septima now realized that things wouldn´t work out without a bass player. ;) Who that would be wasn´t a hard question for Kenneth Helgesson who right away called his best friend Michel Bärzén. The next day he came to join the band. These four guys together ended up recording four bad demos with lots of not so good songs on them. The songs all had different influenses. It started like punk and became heavier and heavier. They had fun. That was what it was about.

When the band later on decided that Fredrik should focus more on the vocal part, Jesper Bronner was invited to join them as a second guitarist. In the year of 2002 Septima recorded their first real studio demo with three quite good songs. Heavy veers and melodic choruses. They started to gig a lot at pubs, bars, clubs and other places. More secure about themselfes they recorded their first really good Septima demo in the autumn of 2003. They named it "Sonett to Death". It contained four songs that sounded like quite slow 80's trash.

Six months later at a gig that they couldn’t cancel, Fredrik became sick and Micke Sehlin was there to fill in for him. It went awesome and Septima decided for several reasons that Micke should take over as the bands new vocalist. Micke was a hit and Septima got more gigs than ever. Six months later they recorded their third studio demo, the heaviest demo so far, Arise. Faster and more aggressive then all of the other earlier demos. With the songs from this demo and a lot of support from the public they advanced to the finals of the Swedish Emergenza contest, and finished in 8:th place.

When Jesper left the band because of lack of interest earlier this year (2004) Anders Nyström the lead guitar player from Eagle Wind came in to the picture, and so todays line-up was finished. Micke Sehlin (vocals) David Szücs (guitar) Kenneth Helgesson (drums) Michel Bärzen (bass) Anders Nyström (guitar)
