Biography

Onsetcold - dynamic, intense & open minded enough to be able to incorporate different metal genres into their music… An intriguing brand of macabre metal, and they would sooner tear off your face than look at you.

Formed in 2004 as the result of previous metal projects, Onsetcold's ability to think outside of the box (or possibly their inability to think inside of it) has created a truly "Individual sound" says ZERO TOLERANCE of the band's E.P Like I care in 2005 "- something that usually takes an album or two, rather than two short demo's" Although appearing dormant on the release front since then (due to studio problems) the writing has infact not stopped, thus the "individual sound" has been developed yet more. This is displayed in the bands latest unofficial release of the track Masterdom Produced by Jon Tyrell of Interlock, currently available on myspace. Both Terrorizer and ZERO TOLERANCE are in agreement that slotting Onsetcold into a nice tidy sub genre slot, is not so easy to do "Onsetcold's music is closest to death metal, yet some moments ring or black/trash, the group clearly find inspiration in most forms of metal… Although it can seem at times that a large part of this job is simply pigeonholing a band to a genre so that the reader can decide from the off if it's worth looking at, it really is not a simple task when it comes to this lot. Truth be told? There is no label or genre you can put on this band, the Onsetcold sound is like a musical personality disorder, or an epileptic seizure Followed by a tranquillizer. Its definitely not "queercore".

Combining elements of all the metal genres you could desire, the music Progresses from every possible emotion to the next with the movement and Precision of an orchestral piece. The vocals vary through states of anger, aggression and pure insanity to pain and Sadness, all the while backed up by haunting keyboards with riffs and drum beats that vary throughout the spectrum just as much as the vocals.

Containing members with experience of gigging with bands such as Gutworm, Himsa, Narcosis, Fony, Mistress, Desecration and Conquest of steel amongst others, topped off with a 2006 tour with Hecate Enthroned; Onsetcold have therefore perfected their energetic live-show.

Local Cheshire music magazine "under" comments on the Onsetcold live experience in their cover feature issue: "Onsetcold are as heavy as metal gets. Front man Shaq is relentless on stage, a very strong show that rains down on the audience like hammers and their fans love it" To this band gigs and metal as a whole is all about having fun.
