Neuromist
by METALSITES.net @ May 24th, 2006Biography
The history of Neuromist dates back to the summer 2004, when three young people - Mike (guitar - Synesthesy), Serghey 'Leolik' (drums - Chordewa, Offertorium, Dakon) and Kirill (guitar - Aeon of Death) - have defined their strive to do something interesting and original in metal music and decided to do it together. It was then, when the band has started to take form. Having bands such as Cynic, Dream Theater, Meshuggah, Atheist, Death and others for musical orientations and adding some elements of jazz and progressive, the youngsters began to create their own material and searching for band mates at the same time. Soon the bass section was taken by Andrey (Aeon of Death, Sacrimontis, Dakon), as for vocals - the vacancy was filled, after some time, by Laur. In this line-up the band had a hard work's time before their first live appearance, which took place on the 7th of May 2005 when Neuromist opened for the Austrian death-metal band Possession. The reactions of the audience were mostly positive, having a common aspect - Neuromist are really playing something original and keep up to the definition of progressive death metal.
The summer of 2005 saw the departure of Serghey and Andrey. Neuromist have started to search for musicians to fill up the vacancies and after a period of time Evghenii (Yellow Milk, Shalyapin Band a.o.) and Alex (X-Band) have joined the band. Having no previous experience of playing metal music, the guys have swiftly adapted to the style and added some fusion of funk and jungle to the music. The work on new material has continued. Having the current line-up, Neuromist took the stage with Apocryphal (Belarus), Morrah (Russia) and Chisinau-death-metal-mates Dakon on 29th of October 2005. The show was a success, pleasing the audience as well as the musicians.
November 2005 has seen the start of the work on Neuromist's first realese, which was finished only in February 2006. The work was hard and faced many problems but yet granting a valorous experience. During this period the band took part in the "NEFORMAT" metal-fest which was held on January 28th 2006 and represented 13 Chisinau-based bands as well as guest from Belarus - Styckoxydal. The show was great with lots of moments to remember and first of all - tons of great music to hear. After that, Neuromist have opened for the legendary prog-death band from Moscow - Hieronymus Bosch on February 18th, alongside Live in Tokyo and Disentomb (both from Chisinau). This show also saw the release of Neuromist's promo-demo entitled "Age of Human Error".
The future for the band is misty but the guys plan more live appearances on home stages as well as gigs outside Moldova. Let's hope for the best, but until then - let's just wait and see where their efforts will take Neuromist next...
