Murder She Wrote

Biography

The band Murder She Wrote was founded in 1995 on the remnants of Maggots and The End Of Music. After considering the individual musical preferences MSW did not fear to embed interesting experiments and unusual styles in their musical work. The first demo tape appeared at the end of '95. The title track Egypt is symptomatic for the musical understanding of MSW. An over eleven minutes lasting epos, almost gentle beginning, imposing effervescent, with innumerable ups and downs, but nevertheless easy to comprehend and in a wondrous way at the same time colour-gladsome and minimumistic.

The second demo tape Colors, which appeared at the beginning of '97, continued consistently with the Egypt line. MSW became somewhat more guitar-orientated and more intelligible, which had as a consequence that some production companies became attentive to MSW.

After the publication of Colors bass player Bemme left the band. It took a long time to find an equivalent with Betz, who played the fourstring in the gothic band Dark. Now the coast was clear to tackle the first full length CD. The recordings of the simply called debut Murder She Wrote were finished in the middle of '99. Beside some old demo-songs also three fire-new tracks were packed on the album, so that those CD shows intentional the history and the development of MSW and draws a line underneath the first creative period of this remarkable band.
