Lordi
by METALSITES.net @ May 10th, 2006Biography
We all have dreams. Some of those are materialistic and some more spiritual. Some are more realistic than others, still all the dreams have one thing in common: those are important to us and those keeps us going. Also those small dreams, which we keep by ourselves and the bigger dreams, which we want the whole world to know. Such big dreams like Lordi.
Amen - the unstoppable mummy, Enary - manipulative valkyria, Kalma - motoristzombie from Hell and Kita - humanlike beast from the space. Lordi is a group from the end of the world and has armed itself with guitars and deathly good songs. The band serves big and loud music with plenty of catchy elements and they even dare to be funny. Lordi gives the chance for each listener to rise their fists in the air, sing along, and dance thru the night.
The very best way to experience Lordi is to see them live. Shameless extravagant and theatrical and often with pyrotechnical effects spiced rockshow is for sure a fine experience for all ages.
Debut album "Get Loud" was released in Finland 2002 and it sold over 30.000 copies in a short time (platina) and the single "Would You Love a Monsterman" sold gold (over 5000 copies) and stayed in our charts over six months often as No 1. They also received the hardrock/metal album of the year award "Emma" in 2003.
Lordi´s 2nd album "The Monsterican Dream" was released in 2004 and the single "My Heaven Is Your Hell" was immediately at the top of the charts. Lordi has released albums in over 20 countries from Europe to Southern America.
Lordi has done several tours around Europe. The group has also performed together with Nightwish in Germany and Sweden. During the spring of 2005 Lordi was touring in France, UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Denmark. Lordi´s 3rd album was released 1st of March, 2006.
