Hurt

Biography

HURT 2005 is the result of 8 years of evolution, with style and line up changes. Formed by Chris Bird (heavy vocals, guitar) and Tom Groves (melodic vocals, bass) in 1997, Nathan Daly later joined, who drummed with the band until 2004 when professional differences finally became too great to overcome. During Nathan's time behind the kit, HURT made two live CDs, "Live at Thorngate Hall" (Feb 2001) and "The Hurtcore Family" (June 2003).

With their first studio recording mere weeks away, HURT enlisted Ben Williams (who also plays alongside Chris and Tom in necro band SEWN MOUTH SECRETS) to fill the recently vacated drum stool. Through a heavy practice regime this new HURT line up had 6 songs (which had already been decided as the tracks for recording before Ben's arrival) primed and loaded in time for the 2 day recording session at Fareham's DUGOUT recording studio.

The result of this is "THE REALITY OF ZERO HOUR", a tight E.P. showcasing the efforts of 3 serious musicians with a tangible dedication to and love for their music and instruments. Excerpts from this E.P. will be available from the band's web site, the full E.P. can be obtained directly from the band at gigs or by enquiry.

With Ben now firmly established as part of the Hurt family, the band continue to write increasingly innovative songs and play live to spread the 'hurtcore' word.
