Fatal Taunt

Biography

FATAL TAUNT are a Hard Rock/Melodic Metal band from South Wales in the United Kingdom with band members from Chepstow, Cwmbran and Newport.

The current line up of band members was finalized at the end of April 2006 with David Birbeck and Karl Silverthorn on Guitars, Steven Jenkins on Vocals, Kelly Davies on Bass Guitar and Kyle Howells on Drums.

The band name "Fatal Taunt" was devised by Drummer Kyle Howells.

In June 2006 they recorded the three-track demo, which includes the songs “Hold It Down”, “Fatal Taunt” and “Victim of a Parasite”. Samples of which are available from the band's MySpace website (MySpace.com/FatalTaunt).

Their first gig was at the Meze Lounge in nearby Newport supporting the band “Necrocest” in June 2006, a Solo Performance at the Pontnewydd Rugby Club in July followed with a further gig at the Meze Lounge in August.

Whilst these performances received a positive response from the audiences, it was when the band headlined at the Riverside Tavern, with support from other bands "Demon Orgy" and "Prince of Focrew" that the audience, consisting of venue regulars as well as fans traveling specifically to the Riverside Tavern to see Fatal Taunt's performance, were particularly responsive to the unique musical style to the South Wales area.

From the musical influences of Rammstein, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, The Goo Goo Dolls, Evanescence, Greenday, System of a Down, Tool, Stone Sour and Disturbed; FATAL TAUNT have developed their own unique sound and have established a solid following in the Newport area of South Wales.

Gigs are now being arranged for venues as far afield as Neath, Haverford West and Bristol and the band also plan to record an EP or Album early 2007 with the new material.

The band is incredibly grateful and humbled by the amazing show of support from their fans both locally and those who unfortunately live too far away to have seen the band's performances to date.

The future is looking bright and with a positive second year on the horizon, after a surprising first, the band is sure to go from strength to strength.
