Equilibrium (usa)

Biography

The early beginnings of Equilibrium (circa 2000) consisted of us, Mark and Steve only as guitarists. We used various methods of recruitment to complete a band during this period, with minimal response. We had trouble finding musicians who we felt fulfilled the band. Our search lasted for a period of about three years. Then we came to a realization that we were going to have to do it all ourselves. Around that time (early 2003), Steve's brother Tom tried playing bass for us, but he resigned and gave us a bass guitar. That inspired us to do it ourselves. We eventually got a bass amp towards the end of March, 2003, and a complete double-bass drum kit towards the end of May, 2003. Then over the next five months, we wrote four songs and practiced them rigorously, six days a week for five months.

We entered the studio early November, 2003 and recorded our four song demo titled "Demo-Listen". It was a promising project, but the production was somewhat lacking. We continued writing new material over the next six months. During that period we constructed a website and got it online early May, 2004. Late June early July, 2004 we decided that we needed to play live to get signed. So once again we tried recruiting people, and we found a bassist early July, 2004. Eventually we parted ways with the bassist for performance issues on our failed project "Serenity's Demise" early September, 2004. After this, we decided that we needed new material to put forth. So we decided to enter the studio ourselves yet again and record a new project. After a month and a half of dedicated practicing we recorded our four song Ep title "The Apocalypse" early November 2004.
