Embers Remain

The current lineup of EMBERS REMAIN (formerly Suffered the Will) was solidified in August of 2005 after years of various ups and downs, although pieces of it were in place as early as 1999. Ed and Don met in high school in 1994, although it wasnt until college that they decided to form a band. Over the next few years, Ed and Don continued to write and play songs with several different singers and drummers.
Ed and Marino originally met in college and would jam together from time to time. There were several occasions when Ed, Don, and Marino contemplated putting together a full band, but the time was never right. Marino was in his own band, Nodus, in which he was the songwriter/guitarist/singer.
In the spring of 2005, Ed and Marino ran into each other and it was at this chance meeting that they decided it was finally time to form a band together. Since Nodus had disbanded and the members had gone their own ways, Marino was looking for a new project. Being proficient at several instruments, Marino decided he would pick up the sticks for the newly-formed band. He adds the much needed element of dynamics through consistently heavy, yet groove-driven drumlines with influences from everything from thrash metal to jazz. The trio began to solidify their music and search for a singer.
With a handful of songs written sans vocal lines, they began the search. Dave had just recently moved back to the east coast after he realized that the music scene in Salt Lake City was non-existent. Searching various avenues, he was able to be put in contact with the rest of the group. He was offered a try out and was inserted into the lineup shortly thereafter. Dave finalized the band, bringing along numerous hardcore/metalcore influences, along with an extreme amount of energy and intensity.
Since August 2005, EMBERS REMAIN has been solidifying songs, writing and rewriting the catalog, working on new material, and practicing for shows. Their music combines heavy and melodic lines with creative song structures, fused with metal influences from many bands that range from early 80s thrash to modern metalcore. They continue to find ways to combine all of their collective influences into songs of varying styles, all linked by a common thread. EMBERS REMAIN is continuously recording and will be posting songs as they become completed (for now).
