Avenged Sevenfold

Avanged Sevenfold is also known as A7X to many fans. A7X is composed of 5 members: Lead singer M. Shadows, Lead guitarist Synyster Gates, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, Bassist Johnny Christ and drummer "The Rev." They have released 5 albums, their first "Sounding The Seventh Trumpet" (2001), second (fans will say that you're not a fan of A7X unless this album is one of, or is, your favorite) "Waking The Fallen" (2003), "City of Evil" (2005), "Avenged Sevenfold" (2007) and "Live in the LBC, and Diamonds in the Rough" (2008). The last album is a special DVD/CD set that includes b-side tracks and a recorded performance.
Avenged Sevenfold has many biblical references, including the name of the band itself, which comes from the story of Cain and Abel. Cain and Abel's story is found in Genesis chapter four, which is also a song from their "Waking The Fallen" album. Beast and the Harlot is also a biblical reference to the Book of Revelation and the fall of the city of Babylon. Though A7X is not a Christian band, they are intrigued by the Bible.
Avenged Sevenfold was influenced by Iron Maiden, Metallica and Pantera among others. They cover the songs "Flash of The Blade" by Iron Maiden and "Walk" by Pantera. Lead singer M. Shadows is often found wearing a Metallica shirt onstage.
Singer M. Shadows had surgery on his vocal chords after recording WTF and many debate whether he can scream like he did in the first two albums. Though the rest of the albums feature singing rather than screaming, Shadow's surgery was irrelevant to the decision to sing in the latest three releases.
I also heard that Synyster Gates has his own clothing line, but I don't have much information on it.
