Biography

AureA is a project born in Genoa (Italy) in 1997 thanks to Maurizio Pili (guitars) and Andrea Baldisser (drums).
After a couple of months Alessandro Pellicari (Bass) and Luca Barillari (guitars) joined them and completed the band.

In 1999 AureA with Ivan Drake, the first singer of the band, started their studio activity with the autoproduction of 4 speed power metal tracks included in the first demo: “phoenix of fire”.

Subsequently in 2000 the band recorded the second demo “Fallin’ higher” containing 3 tracks of speed prog metal played with the italian guitar hero Yackson ( Shadows of Steel ) as special guest.

In 2001 Gil substituted Ivan Drake, and AureA started working to the new 5 power prog trash songs included in their first mini CD “inside”. In January 2003 Gil left the band.

Nowadays the best italian power prog band has started to compose new material with the new singer Claudio Canovi.
Nowadays aurea is one of the most imoprtant underground bands. During the last 2 years the band concentrated on writing 12 new songs. On june 2005 will be out the new minicd: 4 complicated songs. This time ispiration was taken from Dream Theater, Symphony X, Sadist, Slipknot and of course Aurea. An incredible mix!
